Hearts For Youth, Inc. (HFY, Inc.) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Alexandria Bay, New York, dedicated to providing meaningful opportunities for youth through after-school, evening, weekend, and summer programs that promote learning, creativity, physical activity, and positive social connections. Our mission is to help young people become healthy, educated, respectful, and productive members of our community by offering engaging experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
HFY serves more than 400 youth annually through a wide variety of enriching programs including toddler free play, Story Time, arts and crafts, sewing classes, LEGO League, board game clubs, Magic: The Gathering, pickleball, fishing, kayaking, model building, STEM activities, tutoring, family bingo and movie nights, and seasonal special events. While our primary focus is serving school-age youth, we also offer programs for infants, toddlers, preschool-aged children, families, and older adults through initiatives such as Boomers Movers.
More than 65% of the children who participate in HFY programs come from lower-income families. We are committed to removing financial barriers by providing high-quality programs at no cost or very low cost whenever possible, ensuring every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, build friendships, and discover new interests regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.
